Hispanic Scholarship Consortium
The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium is open to applicants attending an accredited university for 2013-2014, have a cumulative GPA 3.0+, demonstrate financial need, leadership aptitude, and community service; reside in Texas, and be of Hispanic origin (this includes students of mixed heritages with one Hispanic parent). The Consortium will consider funding applicants attending college under Texas Senate Bill 1528. Please review the attached link for further information and application criteria. Physician Assistants for Latino Health (PALH)
The PALH offers a $500 scholarship to currently enrolled physician assistant students. Applicants must be a member in PALH and AAPA; leadership in the Latino community or have interest in Latino Health issues (applicant does not need to be of Latino descent to apply for scholarship); have a minimum GPA 3.0 (unofficial transcripts should be sent with application); a letter of recommendation and statement of purpose are required. The National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program
The National Health Service Corps has opened their 2013 Loan Repayment Application. Eligibility requirements are as follows: be a U.S. citizen or national; practice in one of the following disciplines: Primary Care Physician (MD or DO), Primary Care Physician Assistant (PA), Primary Care Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Health Service Psychologist (HSP), and several more. William G. Anderson, DO Minority Scholarship
The American Osteopathic Foundation is currently accepting applications for the William G. Anderson, DO Minority Scholarship. Open to TCOM 2nd, 3rd and 4th years (current 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years in spring 2013--must have completed first year of studies prior to fall 2013). A $5,000 scholarship awarded to a student who can demonstrate that they are an outstanding minority osteopathic medical student who is committed to osteopathic principals and practice, has excelled academically; and has proven to be a leader in addressing the educational, societal and health needs of minorities. Burnett Osteopathic Student Research Award
The AOF if currently accepting applications for the Burnett Research Award. A $2,000 award will be given to an osteopathic student who has developed a concept paper or performed osteopathic-oriented research while enrolled at UNTHSC. Please review attachment for additional information and application. DEADLINE: April 24, 2013.
AOA Presidential Memorial Leadership Award
The AOA (American Osteopathic Association) is accepting applications for the Presidential Memorial Leadership Award. This $5,000 award must be a current member of SOMA (Student Osteopathic Medical Association), and a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year TCOM (current 1st, 2nd or 3rd year this spring 2013) student. Please review attachment for further information, requirements and application. DEADLINE: April 24, 2013.
McCaughan Heritage Scholarship
The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) is currently accepting applications for the McCaughan Heritage Scholarship. A $5,000 scholarship must be a 4th year TCOM student in good academic standing (will be in his/her last year of studies during fall 2013--current 3rd year TCOM students in spring 2013). Welch Scholars Grant

The AOF is currently accepting applications for the Welch Scholars Grant. A $2,000 grant will be awarded to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year TCOM student (current 1st, 2nd, 3rd yrs in Spring 2013). Please see attachment for further information, requirements and application. Applications must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office (FAO). DEADLINE to submit to FAO: May 6, 2013
The National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program
The National Health Service Corps has opened their 2013 Scholarship Program Application. Eligibility requirements are as follows: be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National, a full time student at an accredited school, and pursuing a degree in the TCOM or PA program. The NHSC Scholarship Program awards scholarships each year to students pursuing careers in primary care. In return, students commit to serving for two to four years upon graduation and completion of their training. Please view linked website for further information and application. Ridglea Lone Star Scholarship Application
The local chapter of the Texas Business Women Organization are accepting applications for the Ridglea Lone Star Scholarship. Specifically the Vivian Eickoff Scholarship for Nursing/Health Care Students. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and Texas resident in the Greater Fort Worth area, be a high school graduate, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Three letters of recommendation and a personal statement are required along with the application. Please view attached document for further application information. College Prowler "No Essay" College Scholarship
This external scholarship opportunity is open to all current students or those planning to enroll within 12 months; applicants must be legal residents of the US or International students with valid Visas. Only one entry allowed per month (a new winner is chosen every month). One prize of $2,000 will be awarded each month to a randomly selected entrant (winners will be notified via email). UNTHSC and the Financial Aid Office do not endorse, and are not affiliated with this scholarship or company. Please review rules and frequently asked questions via the website. Tylenol Future Care Scholarship
The Tylenol Future Care Scholarship is awarded based on leadership qualities, academic excellence and community involvement. Eligible students must be pursuing healthcare-related degrees, and have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university by Spring 2013 (ALL UNTHSC PROGRAMS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY). Applicants must be a resident of the U.S., Puerto Rico or the District of Columbia. As a graduate student you must be able to provide proof of enrollment to a graduate program in public health/health education or med school. You must create an account to complete the application online. Further requirements are listed within the application. 10-$10,000 non-renewable awards will be given; 30-$5,000 non-renewable awards will be given. DEADLINE: June 15, 2013
