The Bone and Joint Research Center
The
Bone and Joint Research Center (BJRC) was established in March of 2008
by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of North
Texas Health Science Center. This interdisciplinary center offers
support for faculty, residents, and pre- and post-doctoral students to
complete basic science, translational, and clinical research. It houses
state-of-the-art equipment for experimental and computational studies in
areas including tissue mechanics, multi-scale modeling and biomaterial
evaluation. The BJRC provides opportunities for collaborative research
with other institutes and departments within the University of North
Texas Health Science Center and with other national and international
institutions.
Vision Statement
To establish the Bone and Joint Research Center (BJRC) as a
national and international distinguished center of excellence and an
innovative and scholarly source of clinical, basic
science, translational musculoskeletal research and education.
Mission Statement
The Bone and Joint Research Center (BJRC) is devoted to the advancement of orthopaedic science and practice using innovative interdisciplinary translational research and hands-on education, including introducing orthopaedic residents and university students to research. Research and education at the BJRC aims towards the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chronic musculoskeletal diseases and acute injuries, enhancing clinical care, improving health, and leading to a better quality of life for residents of Tarrant County and patients worldwide.
