Responsible for managing the Health Science Center compensation and position management programs. Major duties include assisting staff with creating and reclassifying positions, maintaining job descriptions, conducting salary surveys and providing guidance to faculty, staff, and administration regarding compensation policies. Responsibilities also include serving as position management liaison concerning new hires, promotions, transfers, salary increases, terminations, and other position actions.

Human Resource Lead/Immigration
Office Hours: 8 AM-5PM Tues., Wed., Thurs.
Responsible for providing information and assistance concerning federal regulations to Health Science Center departments intending to employ foreign nationals. Assists both departments and foreign nationals with immigration procedures, ensuring all paperwork, including visa applications, are completed accurately and filed in a timely manner. Coordinate payments for all filing and/or legal fees, and verifying approval from the Attorney General. Serve as UNTHSC immigration liaison whenever a foreign national is working with outside counsel.
Employee Relations and Employment
This position assists administrators with discipline and discharge procedures to ensure institutional policies are followed. This position facilitates the Complaint and Grievance process, administers the Alternative Dispute Resolution process, and counsels both supervisors and employees regarding policy and procedure issues. Duties also include overseeing employment and recruitment procedures for faculty and temporary employees and processing Workers’ Compensation claims.
Oversees recruitment and selection of faculty positions, ensuring hiring process is in compliance with federal and state law and administers the Employment Tracking system, Temporary Pool and New Employee Orientation. Assists with the processing of Worker's Compensation claims.

Directs and administers mandatory EEO training for UNT Health Science Center staff and faculty. Oversees annual Affirmative Action Plan, and is the ADA Coordinator for employees requesting an accommodation under the Americans with Disability Act. Conducts investigations into allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment and disability statutes.
Partners with managers and their teams to assess needs, develop action plans, improve work process flow and improve team performance. Provides learning and development support to new and existing employees through professional development course offerings. Assists in the evaluation of employees and implemented programs to ensure they meet the institution's strategic business goals and achieve results.
Designs curriculum and provides functional training and documentation to HSC users on standard and approved software, online applications, employee orientations, and other emerging technologies. Provides one-to-one training and mentoring for HSC users in departmental specific software projects. Assists them in appropriate decision making on how to utilize the software to meet their job related needs.
