Prerequisite Course Requirements
Q. Can I submit my transcripts for evaluation?
A. No. we are not accepting transcripts for evaluation. Work with your academic advisor at your respective institution to ensure you are taking the correct prerequisite courses. If you or your academic advisor have further questions regarding a course, contact email@example.com
Q. May I schedule an appointment with an advisor to review my transcript(s)?
A. At this time we are not meeting with students to review transcripts. If you are still at a 2-year college or 4-year university, work with your academic advisor on any prerequisite coursework questions.
Q. What are other requirements for admission?
A. In addition to the minimum PCAT score of a 40 composite percentile, minimum GPA requirement of 2.5, UNT System College of Pharmacy supplemental application, three (3) letters of recommendation from individuals who can assess your potential for the program. Letters from friends and family members will not be accepted and may result in an incomplete application. See
Q. Do you accept prerequisite coursework from community colleges?
A. Yes, we accept prerequisite coursework from any U.S. accredited 2-year college.
Q. I completed my prerequisite coursework outside of the United States, will you accept these courses?
A. No, all prerequisite coursework must be completed at an accredited U.S. institution.
Q. Do you accept international students?
A. No, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (must possess U.S. Permanent Resident card). We will not accept letters of application for U.S. permanent residency.
Q. Do you accept foreign coursework?
Q. My prerequisite coursework is several years old; can I still use these courses?
A. Yes, there is no expiration date to prerequisite coursework required.
Q. Do I have to complete all coursework before I apply?
A. Math and science courses must be completed and official transcripts submitted no later than May 29, 2015.
General course requirements must be completed and official transcripts submitted no later than May 29, 2015.
Q. Will AP, Dual Credit or CLEP credits be accepted toward the prerequisite requirements?
A. Advanced Placement (AP) credit, Dual Credit, and/or College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credit that appears on the applicant’s official college or university transcript will count toward prerequisite coursework.
Q. Do I need a bachelor’s degree to apply?
A. No, but you must complete all necessary prerequisites.
Q. If I have a baccalaureate degree or higher, will any of the prerequisite requirements not yet fulfilled be waived?
A. Yes, the general education requirements will be waived, however, math and science prerequisites are not waived. Please note, you must have a GPA of 2.5 in math and science prerequisite requirements.
Q. If I hold a baccalaureate degree or higher in a field other than pharmacy, and I am interested in the Pharm.D. Program, am I still eligible to apply?
A. Yes. Regardless of what degree you hold, you may apply. However, you must complete all prerequisite courses before entry into the PharmD program.
Q. What is the minimum GPA in order to apply to the PharmD program?
A. Applicants will be assessed on a number of criteria and must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 in the prerequisite courses.
