 Checklist

  • Online application
  • $40 application fee - check or money order (in U.S. Dollars) made payable to the UNT Health Science Center and mailed to the address below. Please be sure the applicant’s name is included on the check or money order so we can match the fee with the application.

Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences

UNT Health Science Center

3500 Camp Bowie Blvd.

Fort Worth, TX 76107

  • Official transcript(s) from each and every college/university attended
    • Please note, all transcripts are required. If you took one course at a community college or participated in a study abroad opportunity, we will need a transcript from the college where you completed the class.

    • If you are still enrolled in classes, please request a transcript from your current institution after grades for the fall semester post to your record. We will also need to see your Spring registration (if you are enrolled for Spring)

    • If you attended a college/university outside the U.S. you must submit an official WES or ECE course-by-course evaluation as well as the official transcript. WES has an option where they will send us your transcript along with their evaluation, in that case you don’t have to send us an additional transcript on your own.

  • 2 Letters of recommendation

    • The applicant must contact his/her recommenders to request the letters. We do not do this for the applicant.

    • Letters must be on letterhead, signed, and come directly from your recommender.

      • Please ask your recommenders to scan and email their letters to GoToGradSchool@unthsc.edu. The email must come from your recommender’s University email address (or his/her place of employment)

      • Letters can also be mailed to the address above.

    • Those that use interfolio can have the letters emailed to GoToGradSchool@unthsc.edu from Interfolio.

  • Test scores

    • An official GRE score is required. Institution code: 6909

    • An official TOEFL or IELTS score is required for applicants who are not U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents, unless you’ve completed a degree program within the U.S. Institution code: 6909.

Admissions Process

Application Submission:

  1. Submit the online application
  2. Pay the $40 application fee

  3. After receiving the fee, the admissions office will process your application and email you a PIN that will give you access to MyHSC, where you can check the status of your application.

    • If you’ve applied to any UNT program in the past, you should already have access to MyHSC and will not receive this email. You can click the forgot EUID/password links on the login page to access your record.

  4. Request remaining documents required for the application

  5. Login to MyHSC to see what we’ve received and what is still remaining.

Application Review:

We have a centralized admissions process meaning all applications are reviewed by a committee comprised of faculty representatives from each department. Individual faculty do not make admissions decisions. All applications completed by the deadline are reviewed by the admissions committee. The admissions committee is made up of faculty representatives from each department and meets to review applications completed by the deadline from late January through March.
